STOPTALKING is a live performance series held in Downtown Toronto (Ontario, Canada). The first installment of the series took place in 2009 at the now defunct Good Blood, Bad Blood. The night featured a modest collection of emerging local performers providing a unique variety of entertainment. As the series has progressed, STOPTALKING has continued to flourish and transform; providing an ever-improving roster of performers, successively larger crowds, and a stronger event each time.

The visual art-based performance series aims to facilitate an engaging social experience, enveloped by a variety of live performance and a visually intriguing atmosphere. STOPTALKING features storytelling, poetry, confessionals, stand-up comedy, performance art, personal letters, skits, and more. For each event, a new installation is created to compliment the stage—a collage of numerous objects, including artifacts from previous editions of STOPTALKING. This event, too, seeks to provoke discourses that will ultimately contribute to enriching the social and artistic fibre of our local (artistic) community.

As a community driven event, we strive to showcase unique live entertainment to the public, while providing a platform for emerging performers to share and develop their work. Bringing together many different styles of performance opens up multiple dialogues for audience members to consider and encourages performs to reflect on, and refine their own practice. Our main goal is to produce an unconventional and entertaining social experience that is exciting and enriching for both spectator and artist. Come out to the next STOPTALKING or visit us online to experience and support a wonderful community-based event.
